I thought I would take some time to let you all know what my kids are up to these days. They are changing so much! David is 3 1/2 and Michael is 13 months now. They really do love each other and it shows. Michael usually gets up before David does in the mornings. We have some quiet time in the "big bed" (our bed) with Daddy before he gets in the shower for work. We usually watch Shaun the Sheep and then on to Special Agent Oso. Michael sits for a little while but is soon ready to get moving again. I take him into the playroom and he plays while I fix his breakfast and my coffee...first things first:) His breakfast is usually a waffle with butter and a piece of toast or a banana. He also loves cereal bars too! He eats and then it is usually time to go get David from his room. Sometimes he sleeps later so Michael and I play while we wait. When we go to get David, you can see the excitement in Michael's eyes, he grins and goes as fast as he can to David's room. I open the door and Michael always squeels! David is always so happy to see his "little Brover" and they play together in David's bed for a little bit. David eats breakfast and Michael is usually right at his feet playing or very close by in the playroom. When David gets down, Michael is soooo happy and ready for a playmate. They play so well together and David us usually disappointed when it is time for Michael to take a nap. He wants him to "have five more minutes!"
Today was a great day. After Michael woke up from his nap we all got ready and went to the gym. Michael has been having a bit of a problem with "drop offs" lately. He only cried for a few minutes and then had a great time playing with the other kids. David has completely gotten over his fear of "drop offs" and loves to go see Ms Mary at the gym. He was actually sad when it was time for us to go. We left there and then went to lunch at our favorite place....Mcdonalds. David likes to call it the "Chicken Store" where he gets chicken, apples and "chicken-milk" as he likes to call it. Michael eats a plain cheese burger....just like his daddy! He will eat anything but will not eat a burger with ketchup or mustard on it:) Both the boys are in bed right now. David is already asleep and Michael is cooing and talking to himself. He usually goes right to sleep, I don't know why he is still awake. Michael is very independent when it comes to bed time. He does not like to snuggle much at all and would prefer to be in his bed. Sometimes when he is very tired at the end of the day, he will snuggle with me for a few minutes before reaching for his bed. He has become attached to a certain Lovie which he HAS to have to sleep. I really need to wash the thing, but I can't seem to find anytime to get it away from him. Oh Well! David was always a cuddler but does fine going to sleep on his own. We always get in bed with him and get "tucked up"as he likes to say. We read a book or two, and then he likes me to tell him a story. We say our prayers and then it is lights out and he goes to sleep on his own. If we lay with him, he will not fall asleep. This afternoon, he actually fell asleep snuggled up next to me. I had tucked him in and he asked me to stay with him so I snuggled up with him. Within five minutes, he was sound asleep. I just watched him for the longest time, willing myself not to fall asleep because I have too much to do during naps. There is nothing sweeter than you precious children sleeping in your arms. It just doesn't get much better than that!
